Microsoft Data Access Components are corrupt

In some situations it may be that your Microsoft Data Access Components have become corrupt. This may have been caused by another program installing or uninstalling the components incorrectly.

The MDAC is used by the Speed Test to access its configuration, servers and portfolio databases. Without the MDAC installed correctly the Speed Test is not able to run.

You may be able to fix this problem by downloading the Microsoft Data Access Components again to overwrite the existing files. To do this, download the file below and install it.

Download instructions:
Click the link below to begin the download. If prompted, select the 'open' or 'run from current location' option. When the download has completed, click 'yes' to any security messages or installation confirmation messages.

Download mdac_type.exe from Microsoft.com (5.4MB)
