Denial of Service attack
Traffic on the upload test servers recently reached an incredible level
(some fifty times higher than normal). This was caused by a denial of service
attack by hackers, causing the upload test server to fail.
Thanks to the shear quantity of illegal users overwhelming the Speed Test,
some servers were taken offline and the upload test has been changed. In order
to maintain the service genuine users are paying for, a new version of the
Speed Test has been released, which can be downloaded
here. Registered users of existing versions will find that their upload
tests will no longer work, and some advanced features may fail. These problems
can be rectified by downloading the new version.
I apologise for this inconvenience, but this is simply the case of a minority
of users spoiling it for the majority.
